Please join in celebrating Sister Theresa Ðặng Ngọc Uyên-Chi, who has made her perpetual profession to God as a Handmaid of the Sacred Heart of Jesus this past August 13th, 2016. She has embarked on a lifelong commitment, a covenant and vow of poverty, chastity, and obedience which was bred from a culmination of years of discernment, reflection, prayer, study, work, and trust. Handmaids Visit El Salvador

1. Sr. Sagrario and the volunteers serving food to the children and elderly in Las Delicias, El Salvador. Sisters Belen Escauriaza and Sagrario Nunez joined Project Fiat coordinator, Lynette Kyle, in El Salvador this summer where they spent time with the Handmaid mission. They worked for over several weeks with villagers from Las Delicias and other volunteers to build twelve houses. More on the Sisterhood of the Traveling Handmaids!

Sister Uyên-Chi is the 2nd from right. Sr. Uyên-Chi, acj, travelled this past June and July to California, where she took part in a young adult retreat called Caritas. Caritas is a Jesuit Catholic experience that offers a safe and sacred space for young adults in their 20′s and 30′s to explore their honest feelings and thoughts about love, God and meaningful relationships. Sr. Uyen Chi stayed at San Luis Rey, one of their missions in Oceanside, CA.
