Saint Raphaela Mary, our Foundress, counted on the power of prayer to sustain the ministry of the Handmaids. She once remarked that, “This is the work of Christ’s Sacred Heart, so He is obligated to give us all the help we need to fulfill it.” From the very beginning, we’ve counted on our lay friends to pray with us and for us.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament

This prayer form was very important to our first Sisters and continues to be part of our daily life. We ask you to bring the Handmaids, our ministries, our older Sisters, and those women God is calling to become Handmaids, into God’s special presence when you make an Adoration.

Ask the Lord to bless all the people we serve, and to guide us to follow God’s will ever more closely!

For information about the Adorers of the Blessed Sacrament, please contact Sr. Sagrario Nunez, acj by phone at (215) 885-1636.

Mass

The greatest prayer of the Church, the Mass, is a source of wonderful graces. You can remember us in this “feast of Heaven and Earth.” It’s also a wonderful time to invoke the intercession of our special patrons: Saint Raphaela Mary, Saint Ignatius, Saint Joseph, and the uncanonized “saints” of the Institute.

Devotion to the Sacred Heart

There are many devotional prayers to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Choose the one that speaks to you most and ask Jesus to invite many young women to consider the Handmaid way of life, and to give them the courage to answer the call.

Rosary

Do you love the Rosary? Mary was the first Handmaid…please ask her to guide all Handmaids, especially those called to leadership within the Institute.

Other prayers

Are you a fan of Novena prayers? Our infirm Sisters would be grateful to be remembered in your Novena of Masses offering.
