Mission Center: PROJECT FIAT

In a country stricken by poverty, social divisions and natural disasters, Handmaids have worked their way into the hearts of Salvadorans. The El Salvador lay mission was founded in 2003 and serves Salvadorans in several villages. Through Project FIAT, volunteers from the United States and other countries build houses and roads side by side with local communities, help nurture malnourished children at a local center, play with abandoned children, accompany the district nurse in a nearby village, organize and implement after school activities and help to provide basic necessities. Project FIAT has a powerful impact both on the volunteers themselves and on the people they serve. To learn more about Project FIAT International, please visit us at: http://projectfiat.org
