Prayer for the Nation’s Peace

Woman Praying

Today, we would like to share the local Philadelphia Archdiocese news and prayer request.

The Knights of Columbus have initiated a campaign encouraging all of us to join in praying for peace this July 14-22 in the wake of the recent violence toward citizens and police throughout the nation over the last several days.

These tragic actions need prayer to bring them to an end and to provide comfort and healing as well as help with future resolutions of peace.

Please participate in the novena by offering the following Prayer for Peace of St. Francis of Assisi for each of the nine days from Thursday, July 14 through Friday, July 22.

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace,
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy;
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
