On Sunday, September 14, 2014, nineteen Handmaids of the Sacred Heart of Jesus were welcomed joyfully as special guests of the US province of the Handmaids at a Eucharistic Celebration held in Haverford, PA. Concelebrating the liturgical feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross were Rev. Daniel Joyce, sj and Msgr. John Jagodzinski. The guests are superiors of all of the regions and provinces in the Handmaid Congregation. Representing 1,200 women on five continents, the sisters are led by General Superior Inmaculada Fukasawa. In September, 2014, the United States province of the Handmaids of the Sacred Heart of Jesus hosted a world level meeting of the Handmaids. The congregation, numbering just under 1,200 women on five continents, is divided into regions. The superiors of all the regions (provinces and vice-provinces) meet in between the five year span for convoking a General Congregation. In recent years, rather than meeting in the Motherhouse in Rome, Italy, the group has been hosted around the world of Handmaids.
