Handmaids Plan Liturgy For Friends And Supporters

thanksgivingOn Sunday, February 10, the Handmaids of the Sacred Heart of Jesus will host a Mass of Thanksgiving at the Saint Raphaela Center in Haverford.

In part, this Eucharistic celebration is an opportunity for the Sisters to offer a spiritually enriching and meaningful event that will serve to accentuate the Church’s “Year of Faith”, which began on October 11, 2012.  The idea for proclaiming the “Year of Faith” is “to give new impulse to the Church, to serve as a source of nourishment and to reactivate the vitality of our Faith.”

In their planning to host this very special liturgical celebration, the Handmaids desire is to reach out in gratitude for the faithfulness they have been shown during their eighty-seven years in the United States.

Guests for the liturgy include the US Province Development Advisory Board as well as many committed friends and supporters.  The celebrant for the liturgy is Rev. Msgr. John Jagodzinski, who is a frequent visitor to the Retreat Center, and a longtime friend of the Handmaids.  The liturgy will begin at 11:30 a.m. and will be followed by a reception, with guided tours.
