PASTORAL MINISTRIES
A multi-cultural community of Sisters today resides in Philadelphia, PA. Each offers her own culturally unique gifts and skills through the daily service of her ministry. Through their work at a local university, in Catholic Social Services, the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, and in parishes, the Sisters lend support and guidance to those in need. Additionally, they assist newcomers to the United States through pastoral and social outreach, with several Handmaids providing evangelization and social services to the Latino and Asian communities. Helping these communities to grow in their faith, to understand and survive in their new environment, and to inculturate, while at the same time, preserving their own heritages, the Handmaids are a vital and valuable resource.
Through their pastoral and social outreach, the Handmaid community adds to the witness of the Church in the city by being a prayerful, neighborly presence among the urban underprivileged sisters and brothers of all races and ethnic groups.

MISSION CENTER
The Mission Center of the United States Province works in support of Handmaids missions throughout the world, in order to help “break the cycle of poverty seen in the current world situation of 200 million displaced persons and the consequent illiteracy, mostly of women and children.” (General Congregation 18 of Handmaids).
Our vision is “that the woundedness and needs of so many of our sisters and brothers may continue to expand the hearts of all of us…”
